Via Forbes:
"Set in a post-war Japan, Godzilla Minus One will once again show us a Godzilla that is a terrifying and overwhelming force, which you already get a sense of from the teaser trailer and poster," said Koji Ueda, President of Toho International.
"The concept is that Japan, which had already been devastated by the war, faces a new threat with Godzilla, bringing the country into the minus."
I honestly thought it was just one of those weird Japanese titles, like Bubblegum Crisis. _________________ "Have you never wondered what it would be like to walk between the ticks and tocks of Time?" |

I hope it is good and, if it does well, that Toho STICKS WITH THIS CONTINUITY for a change!
The Godzilla films are all over the place with ignoring all of the original sequels, only certain sequels, rebooting it; it's very confusing to follow.
Shin Godzilla was supposed to reboot the franchise but then Toho announced they would not do a Shin Godzilla II (thankfully).
I would also prefer that they leave Godzilla as a "villain". That superhero 'friend to children' stuff in the 70s was terrible, even to me as a kid in the 70s. Godzilla, for me, works best as a force of nature that isn't really good or evil, just as any animal in unfamiliar surroundings and circumstances would just try to 'do its thing' as best it can. _________________ "Have you never wondered what it would be like to walk between the ticks and tocks of Time?" |

Tim, you're describing the magnificent 1998 Godzilla movie, in which the monster travels to New York so it can lay its eggs in an underground facility that will protect them!
This was the only Godzilla movie I've ever cared for. It has incredible FX and a story that appeals to me. (But then, we all have differet tastes, eh?) _________________ ____________
