Star-Studded Voice Cast Reunites Batman And Joker From Batman: The Animated Series

It seems Kevin Smith has harnessed the power of Grayskull to hire a stellar cast for his animated series Masters of the Universe: Revelation which includes Sarah Michelle Gellar, Lena Headey, Jason Mewes, Justin Long, Mark Hamill, and Kevin Conroy.

The Hollywood Reporter writes that the series is being described as “anime-style” which will focus on “the unresolved storylines of the iconic characters in the He-Man universe, picking up where they left off decades ago.” So at least it seems like it will not be a prequel or remake, but a sort of sequel. Though the “anime-style” description doesn’t say much, the report says that Powerhouse Animation studio will make the series, and given their work on other Netflix animated series such as Castlevania and Seis Manos, we can assume Masters of the Universe: Revelation will certainly have the same look as many anime series.

Though many fans will instantly be drawn to Hamill and Conroy’s involvement, as it makes this series an Batman: The Animated Series reunion (at least voice-wise), Lena Headey’s involvement also makes this a The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance reunion, as Heady and Hamill also played big roles in that show, which was severely underseen and the lack of news about a season 2 is simply criminal.

“I cannot believe the lineup of talent I get to play with!” Kevin Smith said in a press release before reassuring fans that “With these fantastic performers behind our characters, it’ll be crazy easy to immerse yourself in the swords and sorcery of our epic sci-fi soap opera!” The show also features an impressively supporting cast, including Liam Cunningham, Stephen Root, Diedrich Bader, Griffin Newman, Tiffany Smith, Henry Rollins, Alan Oppenheimer, Susan Eisenberg, Alicia Silverstone, and many, many more. Though there’s no release date announced yet, you can still go watch the other Netflix show set in the He-Man Universe, She-Ra and the Princesses of Power which is quite good.
