It does make sense to revive an old movie's ideas, to make a TV series - though of course Planet of the Apes and Logan's Run have already gone that way. No reason they shouldn't try again, I guess!

As for "Westworld" itself, just one more episode of the first season to go. And most of the hosts seem a lot more sympathetic than the full-blooded humans... especially as one of the most likeable humans was recently revealed, er, perhaps I'd better not go there, spoiler-wise.

It will be interesting to see how they end episode ten - a cliff-hanger, or something that does conclude at least some plot threads?

Great finale,

Don't think I've seen a series that did three timelines at once, didn't see William's coming at all. If you ask me Ford didn't craft the entire plot as he made it seem, but he was just unable to undo what Arnold had done and like Walter in Breaking Bad, would rather prefer to go out with everyone thinking he had orchestrated it all.

I'm gonna make a guess and say there are a lot more androids in the fold then it seems. As reason and self-reflection seem to be the cornerstones of sentience, most of the androids exhibit basic reasoning, lacking creativity in the sense that they do not deviate from their respective paths. Grief here though, as explained, is the key to sentience, as it brings about both belonging and self-reflection. By reflecting on these core memories, the androids seem to need to create a purpose for themselves, as the loss of someone close leaves them without one.

With that being said, William explained at the campfire with Teddy about how his wife killed herself because she thought he was evil on the inside, which gives him his grief and bitterness. His whole romp with Delores made him obsessed with the place, leading him to buy out the majority of the park and with the conclusion of the final maze quest, he is left without a purpose. If I had to guess, he probably is an android and has been used by someone on the inside to control the park, maybe even by the ghost of Arnold himself as we have seen before making changes or as part of an ultimate plan before he committed suicide.

A full ninety minutes, that last episode - and a great climax. It looks as if one or two actors may not be back for season two, but - who knows?

I did think the show had been a bit misleading, making us assume that, when they cut between events in different parts of the park, we were still in the same time - but that certainly made an interesting revelation, concerning one of the most sympathetic characters and one, er, less so!

Season 2 has started.

I was very disappointed in episode 1. So much so I stoPped watching for a while.

I just watched episode 2, Much better.

It will be interesting to see what happens with Delores, She has gotten very dark, very fast.

Same with Maeve, although she was always the darker.

I think Maeve is still the Important character, but time will tell.

I'm not sure what William's outcome will be.
