JB, it would appear that there are several website which claim that Miss Vetri was in Star Trek, including the web page below devote to her.

http://www.glamourgirlsofthesilverscreen.com/show/627/Victoria+Vetri/index.html

Near the bottom of the page it says this:

Links:
Filmography
Victoria Vetri at Memory Alpha
Victoria Vetri in "Star Trek" at YouTube

This article on Flickr also seems convinced.

Wikipedia includes this statement in Miss Vetri's article.

"One of her most oft-recalled roles was a brief non-speaking bit: the human form of a shape-shifting cat in a Star Trek episode ("Assignment: Earth")."

The Daily Mail article about the recent shooting incident has this caption below the pictures of her.

"Bruce says stunning Star Trek actress Victoria (left) even had threesomes with Sharon (right) and her film director hubby Roman Polanski and was meant to be at Sharon's home the night of the slaughter, only avoiding the horrific slaughter because she felt ill earlier in the day and had left"

I have to admit, JB, there seems to be ample evidence that some sort of miscommunication occurred between you and Victoria.

I think you need to read some of the comments below the video, Bud! Quite a few are saying the same as me that that ain't Vetri! It doesn't even state it's her on that page and the episode would have been filmed in late 67/early 68? Her brown eyes would have been perfect as Isis and the gal that got the job had blue eyes and she wasn't even one tenth as sexy! Laughing

I'm sorry, JB, but a few fans who (like youself) don't want to believe it's Victoria for reasons they can't support just don't stack up against the well-respected sources like those I listed above.

JB . . . that IS Victoria in the Star Trek episode.

Your assertions that it is NOT Victoria are based solely on something she said to you which seems inaccurate in view of the over-whelming evidence — along with your initial assertion that Isis and Victoria don't look anything alike.

Sorry, my friend, but they DO. The hair is a wig, and the eyes are contacts. Plain and simple.

But, Bud, I have spoken to the lady in question and she has denied that it is her! That is my proof as it were! But hey if you want to believe it was her that is your right! Wink

You were naughty to put another post on a thread about Isis in the Trek BBS the other day! Those guys get real angry when you bump a thread which is a few years old! I don't know why or what their problem is but... Laughing

I must admit that looking at those pics the shape of her nose is the same and her mouth too! But I'm still not committing myself and to be honest why would she deny it?

It was about three years ago and I'm not even sure if she's out yet or not.

I've got away with the odd two posts together, Bud, but never three! The thought police come down quick on you if you do that or restart an old thread of course! If they're so worried about it, why not close it off for further replies after a given period of time?

Oops! Sorry, I deleted my earlier post because it sounded like I was gripping. Embarassed

Meanwhile, I had fun doing something that will amuse you. Very Happy

Using the IMDB picture of Victoria Vetri, I created the jpeg below to see how much like Isis she would look. I'm not sure if this helps or hurts my assertion that she did play Isis! Shocked

I don't know what age she is in the IMDB picture, but she certainly isn't too much older in it than she would have been in Assignment: Earth.

Anyway, Victoria certainly looks lovely as Isis, even if she doesn't look exactly like the actress in the actual Isis picture. (But I made her eyes a bit too green.)

Terri Garr won't admit to being in it either, but that may be another story.

Perhaps she didn't even realize what she was doing it for....Models have so many costume/dress changes for so many productions it may very well be she didn't know anything about being for STAR TREK. Or, she may have been told it was for a prospective pilot and never followed up.

Either way she may have been clueless about it.

I just think that those of us who are convinced Miss Vetri was Isis and wonder why she said no when JB asked her if she was in a Star Trek episode, there might be better explanation for the apparent contradiction.

Miss Vetri has 34 screen credits according to IMDB, ranging from 1962 to 1975. The Star Trek cameo was fifty years ago, and she's now 74 years old. I think a better theory as to why she might have told JB she wasn't in Star Trek is because he misunderstood his question.

Over the years I'm sure she's been asked if she was in many of the other sci-fi series, and the answer to those questions was always no.

So, maybe she misunderstood which 1960s series JB was referring to.

Just a thought, guys.

Now that you've done that, it caused me to notice that Vetri's face also looks wider than the Isis character's, particularly in the cheekbones.

Too bad we don't have photos showing their ears to compare. That would be about as distinctive as fingerprints.

I can see a resemblance to Victoria although it's the eyes that tell me no, it's not her! Yet that nose and mouth seem to say yes, it certainly could be her!

Bless my soul, guess what I found? Very Happy

A wonderful website dedicated exclusively to Assignment: Earth!

It's been on the web since 1998, and for twenty years it has researched this show meticulously so it can offer fans extremely detailed and accurate information about his single Star Trek episode.

If these people don't know who played Isis, then God himself doesn't know! Shocked

The site includes sections devoted to each of the cast members who were specific to this episode. The actors they listed are Robert Lansing, Terri Garr, Sambo (the cat) — and Victoria Vetri!

The site also includes info about four separate drafts of the script, numerous pictures from the episode, detailed biographies, and interesting interviews . . . including a 1983 interview with Victoria. Unfortunately the interviewer didn't ask her a question about Assignment: Earth, so she didn't verify (or deny) her appearance.

But the devoted fans who created this site seem to know an awful lot about the episode after researching it for twenty years, and I'd be VERY surprised if they were wrong about who played Isis.

JB, if THIS doesn't convince you that Victoria played Isis, then we'll just have to agree . . . that one of us thinks you're crazy! Laughing

JB, I was just about to send you another PM to thank you for doing more than your fair share to keep All Sci-Fi lively and entertaining, but I think I'll just say it right here. Very Happy

Wouldn't it be ironic if we found out it was NOT Victoria Vetri who played Isis, and you were right all along! That would be the perfect end to this spirited and enjoyable debate! Laughing

I wonder if I could convert a picture of Barbara Babcock (who did the cat's meow) into Isis, like I did with that picture from IMDB of Victoria Vetri. After all, using good old Paint.net I've already turned this disappointing picture —

____________

— into this very appealing version. Very Happy

I was thinking something similar, Bud! What if I am right and the Memory Alpha site had compiled all that info on her for nothing? Do you think they'd laugh? Wink
