The first two Austin Powers movie seem lame and witless to me. I wasn't expecting much from the third one.
Imagine my surprise when they it was distinctively better — especially the opening scenes.

Gentlemen, this is brilliant, exciting, and funny. Whatever you may think of the motive after this, you should appreciated the skill it took to make this clever opening.
However, the fun does end her. The spritely sequences that followed are also clever. Fans of lesser efforts to spoof the spy craze should appreciate the sequence shown below.
Gwyneth Paltrow's breif scene was obviously shot at the peak of her youthful beauty. And the inclusion cameos by Tom Cruse, Keven Spacey, and Danny Devito were brilliant show-stoppers before the show had barely begun.
The opening credits continue with more levity which set a standard the movie stuggled to maintain. It wasn't always successful, but it never got a dull as most of the two previous films.

Even the music is remarkable — from the John Woo Bond-like opening action sequence all the way through the "groovy" dance numbers which presented the opening credits, This movie is more fun that the Psychedelic Nineteen Sixties! _________________ ____________
