| All this talk of the hereafter reminds me of the Night Gallery story with John Astin as an aging hippie who dies in a car accident. He finds that hell is a room with chintzy wallpaper and overstuffed furniture, full of boring people talking about boring things. The Devil (who looks like an ordinary guy in a bad Halloween costume) tells him there's an identical room "up there." That same room is some people's idea of heaven! |

The SNL YouTube video below is the funniest thing I've seen in 68 long and eventful years! 
I had to stop the video several times because I laughed so hard I blew snot bubbles!
Buckle your seat belt and try to watch this without causing internal injuries, because it's (a) brilliant comedy, and (b) so close to reality the two seem to share the same DNA!
I'm actually starting to hope Trump does NOT get impeached in the next four years, because the comedic potential of Donald and his Ringling Brothers staff might actually be worth having America becoming the laughing stock of every nation on Earth!
If laughter truly is the best medicine, I think Trump has discovered a health care plan that can't fail!

Here's what I'd have told Colonel George Armstrong Custer: Don't assume your soldiers can beat Indians commanded by a chief named Sitting Bull just because his name makes a funny mental image.
If people didn't have fingerprints, murders would be harder to catch . . . but everybody's eyeglasses would be less smudgy.
How 'bout a rock group called The Navajo Code Breakers. Great music, but nobody knows what their lyrics mean.
A phrase I really hate: "Those two people slept together." Unless the statement refers to two people who fell asleep in the same bed, this is a stupid way to refer to sex. Consider this; All the kids in the same cabin at summer camp sleep together — but they don't have sex!
An example of irony: A man tells his wife he wants a divorce because they never agree on anything, and her reply is, "That's not true!"
Another example of irony: A person who does NOT believe in reincarnation . . . but they DID believe it in their past life!

It seems that those old euphemisms for sex -- "sleeping together" or "going to bed" with someone -- aren't used much anymore. Nowadays, people just have sex. |

They've always "just had sex", but people still refer to it as "sleeping together"!
It drive me nuts!!! 
I walked my date to the door the other night and kissed her on the doorstep ( . . . actually I kissed her on the lips, but never mind that now  ), and she whispered in my ear, "Darling, would you like to sleep with me tonight?"
I whispered back, "No thanks, sweetheart. After we have sex, I think I'll just run on home."
