Gorgeous Shirley Eaton, the girl with the golden body from "Goldfinger", returns as a female Fu Manchu villainess in this spirited sequel to "The Million Eyes of Su Maru".
From her secret hideout in the Amazon jungle she's trying to take over the world again, this time with the help of her loyal all-female minions. Male viewers might wonder if the world would be so bad off if she'd succeeded.
Also starring George Sanders, Maria Rohm, and Richard Wyler. Directed by Jesse Franco. _________________ ____________

Done in the typical cheap but efficient Jess Franco style, with lots of zoom lens shots and naked or nearly naked women. It's known by various titles including The Seven Secrets of Sumuru, City Without Men, Sumuru Queen of Femina, Future Women and Rio '70 (the last sounds like the name of a bossa nova band).
One oddity: Shirley Eaton's character is meant to be Sax Rohmer's Asian villainess Sumuru, but in the dialogue she's called Sunanda -- and the closing credits list her as Sumitra! Some copyright issue, perhaps? |
