About Today's Featured Threads

This is an interesting paring of episodes. In The Immunity Syndrome the Enterprise is absorbed by a giant space-traveling “cell” which drains the energy from the ship and the crew.

In Operation — Annihilate! Spock is attacked by a cell-like creature which attacks him from within and tries to control him with pain.

And in The Gamesters of Triskelion, Kirk and two crewmen are kidnapped by aliens composed of nothing but brains under glass domes, and they control them with electronic collars which punish any disobedience.

All three episodes are about completely non-human life forms which attempt to control our Federation heroes! The question then becomes: Does the universe really contain such disturbing threats? I guess time will tell, eh?
