I'm surprised I couldn't find an entry for this 1978 TV movie:

********
From Wiki:
The Time Machine is a 1978 American made-for-television science fiction-adventure film produced by Sunn Classic Pictures as a part of their Classics Illustrated series. The film stars John Beck and Priscilla Barnes, and was broadcast November 5, 1978 during the November Sweeps on NBC.
********

What Wiki doesn't say is how terrible this hack-job is. Some of the SPFX are clearly trying to cash in on Star Wars fever and the whole production looks cheap and shoddy. The script is not very inspired and the only good parts were the sections that were copied from the George Pal production. I'm sure I read somewhere that there was legal action by Pal against this version's producers.

The Time Machine debuted on November 5, 1978 on NBC. It was produced by Sunn Classic Pictures who were known for their family films & documentaries. SCP produced the science fiction films Hanger 18 (1980), and The Running Man (1987). They were based in Park City, Utah where this TV-movie was shot.

Appearing in the movie are Whit Bissell (The Time Machine: 1960, and a cast member in The Time Tunnel: 1966~1967 television series).

John Zaremba who co-starred on The Time Tunnel also appears in this TV-movie.

Guest star John Doucette also guest starred on The Time Tunnel as Ulysses in "Revenge of the Gods." Guest star R.G. Armstrong was another Time Tunnel guest star, he played detective Alan Pinkerton in "The Death Trap."

I recall watching this TV-movie when it first premiered back in 1978 and not being impressed by it.

Laughing Sorry, my train of thought derailed there!

...were the sections that were copied from the George Pal production. I'm sure I read somewhere that there was legal action by Pal against this version's producers.
