GREAT MOVIES FROM THE 1980s!

The 1980s turned out to be a sort of 2nd Golden Age of Science Fiction. This movie is an example. Here's why.
________________________________

The year 1989 redeemed my claim that this decade was the 2nd Golden Age by providing more truly good sci-fi movies than 1987 and 1988 combined!

In addition to The Abyss, we enjoyed fine movies like these! *)

The Abyss

Arena

Back to the Future II

Back to the Future III

Batman

Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure

DeepStar Six

The Fly II

Honey, I Shrunk the Kids

Robot Jox

Star Trek V: The Final Frontier

What movies do you remember from 1989, and which ones were your favorites? Cool

This movie was such a production from hell that Ed Harris refuses to discuss it, Mary Elizabeth refuses to discuss James Cameron and if she does it is not in flattering terms. In fact, she won't even admit she was in the movie!

The underwater set was filmed in the cooling tank of a nuclear power station that didn't get built. Balls covered the water in the pool to block sunlight. The full size drilling station set was left and could be seen in the mostly drained pool for years. A couple of years back, the facility was bought and the drilling station set is supposed to have finally been destroyed.
