Today was plumbing day.

The last major subsystem was built. The engine section.

I still have plenty of glueing to do, but this was the last
"big" section.

Getting everything lined up was interesting. I followed the
instructions mostly, Deviating when it seemed to make sense.

Once it was mostly together I started running in the tenex.
I didnt clamp or tape anything. It just seems to fit together
very well.

I sprang for the metal parts, boy do they look nice! The plastic is very well done, but nothing beats turned aluminum.

I should get the small tanks and the rest of the tubing on today.

I'll have to start thinking about painting soon. I've been using
Tamiya spray cans lately because they do such a nice job,
But I picked up a new compressor and regulator/water trap at
harbor freight a few months ago. This project would be perfect to test it out on.

The last subassemblies are done.

The landing gear.

Each gear has 10 parts.

They build into working gear.

I have the aluminum gear shafts, I'll install those in the
final assembly.

Next up is a spray of Tamiya gloss aluminum.

Looks like it's moving along.
It should make a good looking diorama!

Thanks!

Alright, I'll post my display area. I'll start another thread later today. Hopefully others will post theirs also!

I'm still plugging away at this.

The spine is attached, the CM and engines are ready to be glued.

The main structure has a few coats of Tamiya pure white. I'm pre shading the gear pods then they will get a coat of primer then white.

Wayne is right, mach7. (I removed it for you.) Very Happy

The "?1" was added by Imgur when you edited it in some manner. If you had edited it twice, there would a "?2" on the end. Edit it three times and it would have "?3", etc.

You'll have to remove the "?1" every time you use that jpeg code from now on. That's why it's better to resize images before you upload them to Imgur.

Has 4 years really passed?

I finished the eagle during lockdown. Overall a very good kit, well thought out. It is easy enough for someone relatively new
to model building to complete, but challenging enough that an experienced builder will have a field-day with it.

I'm so happy with this build that I built a small diorama for it.
