Yes, indeed, and I'm sure those folks were "royally thanked" for giving the solar system a planet whose name inspired so many wonderful jokes.
Like this one.
"How is the Enterprise like a roll of Charmin toiler paper?"
"Because they both go around Uranus and whip out little cling-ons!"
Of course, if Mr. Hershel had named the planet after a different king, it might have been almost as bad. Like King JOHN.

Well, there's at least one . . . sort of.

You're quite right, sir, Journey to the Seventh Planet belongs in our musical tribute to the cosmos. Fortunately that melodious tune is in our other sci-fi music library at this thread.

Somehow, the link that should take us to the other thread takes us on a Journey to the Seventh Planet again, which is a strange kind of "Rick roll"...
Hopefully Fireball XL-5 gets in there somewhere, with flying around the universe, the Milky Way, and indeed to the moon - since it was an easy rhyme! |

Great - and I see it does include that excellent Fireball XL-5 video performance. Since, as well as the Milky Way, the Universe, and the moon, we get Jupiter and Mars, rhymes with stars, it is hard to beat on this subject! |
