Yes, Happy Thanksgiving! Very Happy

In Britain we don't have a public holiday for celebrations, and this year's "Harvest Festival of Thanksgiving" has already come and gone. It's held on "the Sunday of the harvest moon that occurs closest to the autumnal equinox," so generally September or very early October.

"Harvest Thanksgiving in Britain pre-dates Christianity when the Saxons would offer the first sheaf of corn to fertility gods. When the harvest was finally collected, communities would come together for a harvest supper," Wikipedia informs us.

I would advise a measure of caution in regards to eating potato salad that old, Bud.

Oh, don't be silly! After a few days I just take the leftover portion and stuff it into pop sickle molds, then I freeze it.

I can enjoy crispy potato salad sickles all summer long! Very Happy

Of course you don't...Thanksgiving is for people who escaped from Britain; not for people who stayed there Smile.

Or, in the case of my family, it's for people who got kicked out of Britain.

We didn't quite kick you out - according to my researches, your neighbors took up a collection to pay your fare, and all enthusiastically accompanied you to the ship, helpfully not just carrying your luggage, but carrying your ancestors too...

Too bad your people missed the party they held on the shore afterwards!
