. . . You just know the script was written by a man. And while I'm going all feminist, the poster was designed by one too.

The 1993 made-for-cable remake with Daryl Hannah put a feminist spin on the story. You could say it's about a woman's personal growth!

Yeah, you could at that, although nobody really liked the remake, unfortunately for us feminists.

Youtube has two versions and they both look good. I think I'll download it and see if I can have to fun with it. That picture of her below, relaxing in the pool, looks funny.

ok, I know I haven't been keeping up with this, so I though I'd bring up one of my pet peeves about this genre.

It seems in giant movies, the oversize star either gets enlarged accidentally, against their will or when they do it on purpose, they have no clue what they're doing.

Also, the ending usually involves trying (and at least in one case) bringing them back to normal. My scientific side chafes at that! Giants are mostly impossible for biological reasons, but shrinking is impossible on just about every level.

Oh, and one thing about Amazing Colossal Man that's always ticked me off. He starts complaining right from the start, and then he goes nuts. He makes a lame attempt to be philosophical, but gimme a break.

The part that always bothers me is just where does he acquire his mass? I mean he would have to devour millions of calories every day just to maintain him ( or her ) self!

The only answer could be that the space between his molecules, atoms and quarks is continually expanding!
When it expanded far enough he'd become ephemeral and just dissipate!

Gee, Brent, wouldn't it depend on what kind of people are at the party?

If the guest list is comprised mostly of average folks who like to get stoned and make small talk, such comments would just confuse the poor little darlings.

But if the guest list included smart folks who love the challenge of debating ideas and winning arguments by being the smartest person in the room — these folks would be the life of the party! Very Happy
